The Little Older Lady That Knew All The BIG Stars.

Among the assortment of items for sale in a Belgium thrift shop, such as old worn paperbacks, scratched vinyl records, and previously trendy clothing, there was an exceptionally unique photo album. While old photographs typically attract specific types of customers – those keen on photography, history enthusiasts, or artists seeking inspiration – the photo album donated to Opnieuw & Co. would have astonished even the most cynical of shoppers.
Enclosed within its plastic cover was a remarkable compilation of photos showcasing a variety of A-list celebrities from the film and television industry. Upon first glance, one could have easily assumed that the woman seen beside Bruce Willis or Johnny Depp was possibly their mother. However, upon closer inspection, it becomes evident that this woman is present in every single photograph alongside these stars, most of whom appear delighted to be posing with her.
Who could she be? Perhaps a famous figure or a behind-the-scenes professional – an acting coach, a speech therapist, or a script supervisor. Or, could she possibly be a stalker? Who would have guessed?
When the album was discovered, it appeared that nobody had any idea. However, sharp-eyed viewers did some detective work and noticed that this person could be identified by her name tag in a photo where she is standing next to Medicine Woman Jane Seymour.
The woman turned out to be Maria Snoeys-Lagler, a former member of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA). Snoeys-Lagler was one of the 90 HFPA members, each playing a role in selecting the Golden Globes Awards winners.
Unfortunately, Snoeys-Lagler passed away in 2016 at 87 years old, which may be the reason why this specific photo album was found in a thrift store. It's possible that someone uninterested discarded it, assuming it was filled with mundane pictures of Ms. Snoeys-Lagler vacationing or happily attending office gatherings. The good news is that now that Maria Snoeys-Lagler has been recognised, the compassionate individuals at Opnieuw & Co. have contacted her daughter in California to arrange the return of this cherished item.
